This month we are excited to present our next Attorney Spotlight featuring one of our WLSC Partners,
Melissa V. Jordon.
Melissa V. Jordon is a partner in Walton Lantaff’s Miami Office. Hailing from East Hampton, Connecticut, Melissa decided to embrace the sunshine and is a proud Double-Cane. She graduated summa cum laude for her undergraduate studies in political science and history from the University of Miami. Melissa then graduated cum laude from University of Miami School of Law. Melissa primarily practices in the areas of insurance defense litigation (first and third party) and appellate law. She also practices probate law. Blessed with an incisive mind, apt pen, and quick wit, Melissa is a formidable opponent in courtrooms and mediation offices across the state. Her uncanny legal instinct allows her to provide clients with effective and creative legal solutions. If anyone ever was born to be a lawyer, it was Melissa Jordon.
Melissa is active in the local legal community. She has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade County Bar Association for two consecutive terms. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Miami-Dade County Bar Association, and she is the Chair of the Bylaws Committee. Melissa serves the Florida Bar by serving as a member of the Eleventh Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee. She also is an active member of the Spellman-Hoeveler Inns of Court. Melissa serves on the Executive Council for Nextgen benefiting the Chapman Partnership. This is a young professionals group helping Chapman Partnership achieve its goals to provide charitable aid to the homeless. When not practicing law, Melissa enjoys golfing, swimming, and socializing with her friends and family, especially outdoors. Melissa is a die-hard Miami Hurricanes football fan and attends every game. A frequent attendee of social events benefitting both the greater Miami legal community and the general community, she enjoys making a positive difference in the world.
