Mr. Tharp concentrates his practice in general litigation and insurance defense litigation, including professional liability and products liability. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

He earned his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law. He also received his undergraduate degree at Washington and Lee. After graduating from law school, he clerked for United States District Judge Charles B. Fulton and one year later clerked for then United States District Court Judge, David Dyer.

Mr. Tharp is currently a member of the Dade County Bar Association; The Florida Bar; Virginia State Bar Association; and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He served on the Grievance Committee of The Florida Bar in Miami-Dade County, Florida from 1995-98 and served as the Chairman of that Committee in 1997-98.
