Email: jarmstrong@waltonlantaff.com Miami Office Mr. Armstrong has practiced primarily in the areas of Florida Workers' Compensation claims and Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act cases since 1991. Prior litigation experience includes the defense of engineering malpractice actions, Florida Worker's Compensation, general liability and maritime matters. He has an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of The Florida Bar, and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts of Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. He is a member of the Federal District Court Trial Bar for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Armstrong is a 1971 graduate of U. S. Coast Guard Academy and a 1980 graduate of the University of Miami School of Law. He retired from the Coast Guard Reserve in 1993 with the rank of Commander (O-5). In 1994 was one of four contributing authors for a Florida Workers' Compensation Desk Reference Manual for National Education Network. In 1995, he co-authored a comprehensive manual on Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation in Florida for the National Business Institute. In 1996, he co-authored a manual, Workers' Compensation Law for Paralegals in Florida for the Institute for Paralegal Education. He has been certified by the Florida Department of Insurance as an instructor since 1990. He has taught various workers' compensation continuing education courses for claims professionals under the auspices of the Florida Workers' Compensation Claims Professionals Association and the Florida Department of Insurance. He is a Volunteer Attorney Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) of the Eleventh Judicial Family Court since 1986 and has won an Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court GAL Pro Bono Award in 1987 and 2002.
