Area of Practice and Experience

• Ms. Knopf’s primary practice area is insurance defense liability litigation, such as premises liability, personal injury, wrongful death, and professional negligence. She also analyzes coverage issues, provides coverage opinions, and practices coverage litigation on behalf of insurers. Her insurance litigation experience includes civil prosecution of fraud and application of civil RICO.
• Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Knopf practiced insurance defense and coverage litigation in the Florida offices of Robinson & Cole, LLP, and Litchfield Cavo. LLP, where she was successful in obtaining summary judgments for clients and reducing liability exposure.
• Before she entered private practice, Ms. Knopf was senior counsel for the Florida Department of Children and Families, where she managed hundreds of cases involving child abuse and neglect. She independently tried her cases to favorable judgment for the Department, and successfully litigated emergency shelter hearings.
• Ms. Knopf has always enjoyed legal research and writing. In addition to winning the legal research book award in law school, publishing in the Florida Journal of Law & Public Policy, and participating as research editor of that journal, Ms. Knopf has researched and written dozens of memoranda of law addressing complex issues and facts on behalf of her clients in order to obtain summary judgment and favorable pre-trial rulings.
